Gobi Circle
Day 1: BagaGazriin chuluu
Depart BagaGazriinChuluu is a picturesque mountain in the Gobi desert. With at an elevation of 1.751 meters, it is located in the granite belt. Its valleys abound with streams. The ruins of a small monastery are on the south east part of the mountain. The area has got many species of wild animals and birds such as ibex, argali sheep, black vultures, hawk and steppe eagle. After lunch explore around the area.
Day 2: Tsagaansuvraga
Today, set out to explore TsagaanSuvraga is an eroded landscape that was once beneath the sea. After dried up the sea, this area became a valley with many glacis and escarpments, covered by many different sedimentary deposits. The formation is over 50 m in its highest point and continues 400 m.
Day 3: Ongi Monastery
This morning we will drive half day to the Ongiin River, which usually is dried out. The Ongi Monastery ruin is alongside the river near SaikhanOvoo. Hike around the area in the afternoon.
Day 4: Tsenher hot spring
After breakfast we will head to Tsenher hot spring is a natural hot spring flows out from the ground whole year from the ground at 85 Celcus degree, country’s second hottest, in mountainous Central Mongolia. The water has high mineral content and containing everything from simple calcium, sodium to sculpture. Folklore claimed medical value some of the springs have, they are often popular tourist destination for local people such as treatment effect for joints, nerve system and considered good for many other diseases. We will relax at leisure in the hot spring which is based at our ger camp.
Day 5: Harhorin –Hogno Han
We will drive for around 2 hours to Kharkhorum which was the oldest capital city of Mongol Empire, started building by ChinggisKhaan in 13th century. We will visit an impressive Kharakhorum archeological museum exhibits dozens of artifacts dating from 13th and 14th centuries which were recovered from sites of the city. Proceed to visit Erdenezuu Monastery which is the earliest and most magnificent monastery complex in Mongolia, was built at the base of Kharkhorum city in late of 16th century. Proceed driving to Hogno Han Mountains. Overnight at camp.
Day 6: Hogno Han Hogno Han mountain is a giant rock formation in the middle of the steppe and in it is the small Erdenehamba Monastery, now being restored. It was destroyed during the purges of the 1930s. We will explore the area on foot today.
Day 7: Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your hotel. In the late afternoon, you will meet your guide at the hotel lobby for leaving to “Tumen Eh” folk music concert and have a farewell dinner altogether.
